I was first elected to represent the people of North East Hampshire in 1997, again in 2001, 2005 and in 2010.

In addition to my important duties as a constituency MP, on Thursday 10th June 2010, I was elected Chair of the House of Commons Defence Select Committee.

James meets Live Below the Line charity volunteer

James met with Fleet resident Bee Chew at his surgery on 20 April in support of her successful completion of the Live Below the Line challenge.

Greenfields Junior School solar panels, 23 March 2012

On 23 March 2012, James and Hart District Councillor Jonathan Glen officially opened the solar photovoltaic panels on Greenfields Junior School in Hartley Wintney and commended the community scheme whose efforts have given the system to the school.
